Description/Abstract:

This article is a reflection on my experience as a creative and lecturer, a collection of thoughts on my personal journey toward compassionate and inclusive pedagogy, a conversation opener for good practice within creative higher education. The autoethnographic methodology which is underpinned by key literature exploring social identity theory principles and emancipatory pedagogy, highlights the consequences of exclusionary learning environments such as displacement of self and how this may play a significant part in the occurrence of imposter syndrome amongst higher education students from underrepresented communities.
