This work is a text score for voices and instruments inspired by lockdown experience during the pandemic and my readings at the time: Franco Berardi’s description of chaos, Timothy Morton’s provocative question: what is left if we aren’t the world? and Luce Irigaray’s invitation of being in the cosmos, one towards the other… sustained by an ideal. The work represents an invitation to address collectively through sound such questions as: how does it feel to be so intimate with pandemonium ? To create it ? What choice do we have when confronted with it ? This work continues my ongoing research and practice evolving between literary, poetic, and sonic compositions and the appropriation of other people's words. A direction out there, readwalking (with) Thoreau (MA BIBLIOTHÈQUE, Edition Wandelweiser, 2021), Reading (story of) O (Uniformbooks, 2015), Ode (owed) to O (Edition Wandelweiser, 2017), Black and Blue (2020), Still Light (2020), Song of an Intention (2019), to name a few. A commission and a premiere of the work by an ensemble of 17 musicians, took place at Amsterdam Wandelweiser Festival 2022, curated by Dante Boon for Orgel Park, Amsterdam. Since then the work has been performed by large ensembles in Birmingham, Düsseldorf, Thessaloniki and Riga. The text score is based on a short solo voice work (2020), a commission for Sounds of Absence | Various artists (Gruen 209, Gruenrecorder, 2022). The score is distributed by Edition Wandelweiser.
