This group exhibition curated by Borbála Soós is a part of the SHORT PROJECT SHORT NOTICE series. It is a new project where curators and artists are invited to submit to an open call. One successful curator (or curatorial group) chooses as many artists as they desire from the artists' submissions. The concept behind this project is to create brand new networks while giving emerging curators, as well as artists, the opportunity to build on and experiment with their practices.
Greig Burgoyne's drawings are defined by a set of rules that depend on the tools he uses, for instance flipchart pens, dry board markers and post-it notes. The parameters he sets up for himself are matched by an exercise of endurance. The materials are transformed into an immersive and liberated potentiality of 'placeless place' by accumulation and repetition of markmaking.
George Vasey conducted a walk through of the exhibition and was in conversation with the artists on 20 July 2013.
