Description/Abstract:

In collaboration with Uwe Derksen, I have created a series of sculptures based upon the table as a place to bring people together for discussions, games, meals, and debate.

Tabula Fortis in Pace was created with the support of the University for the Creative Arts, LSBC cic, Dover Arts Development, Dover District Council, Dover Town Council and residents of Dover, using reclaimed timbers from derelict, iconic buildings in the town.

The first tabula was shown in the Market Square as part of Dover’s ‘London 2012 Open Weekend’ event, which marked the start of a year-long countdown to the start of the Olympic and Paralympic games. The 2012 Cultural Olympiad tabula was installed at a newly refurbished Dover District Council funded site, Charlton Green, Dover, in January 2017 in conjunction with Dover Arts Development (DAD).
