Description/Abstract:

'Do you know Ubuntu?' documents a community HIV/AIDs and TB clinic in the Masoyi tribal area of north east South Africa. The ACTS clinic (AIDS Care and Training), is predominately staffed by community members who are also on a treatment program at the clinic. The images in Mitchell's project are a combination of her own photographs, together with ones taken on disposable cameras by those interviewed for the book. These visually represent their stories and lives in the community involved in this treatment and clinic.
