- Details
Dungeness is one of the most extraordinary coastal locations in Britain. Resulting from the third Photoworks In-Site project, this book looks at Dungeness as working site, modernist spectacle and dream landscape. The book blends Green’s richly coloured photographs of the interior and exterior of the power station with his exquisite fragments, details of photographs that appear like rare archeological finds. Guardian writer Jonathan Glancey contributes a personal 'Guide to Dungeness' in which he dwells on the history and uniqueness of this 'natural deadend that broods at the very edge of the map of England' and Green's work at Dungeness is explored by an extensive introduction by Photoworks Director, David Chandler.
This book was reviewed in the jounral Nuclear Engineering International which can be seen on the url.
There was also an exhibition held at the Sassoon Gallery, Folkestone Library, from 26th July to 13th September 2003.
