“The Untold Story of Kent’s Black History” is a documentary and museum installation film which charts Kent’s multi cultural history in relation to Afro-Caribbean communities in Kent. Directed and produced by Helen Curston.
The documentary will be available primarily online via the Medway and African Caribbean Association’s “Black History Live” website, but will also be part of an installation re-creating a typical West Indian living room, where an installation film will present an overview of key historical context and narrative. Additionally oral history interviews, recorded and edited by UCA students, will connect visitors with the individual stories of people who paint a picture of life in Kent during the last half century.
