- Details
Port of Entry is a two venue residency and installation based project. Port of Entry will be in two parts. The first part will be a two week residency and exhibition in Shenzhen, China. The second part will be a site-specific installation in Chatham, Kent. Port of Entry is an investigation into the nature of memory, both the known and imagined or presumed. The investigation will be through the practice of drawing as a way of directly interacting with the nature of both the gallery space, and the cultural, social and commercial nature and significance of the two locations. In the first location the installation will be developed through material collected by the artist. In the second venue the artist will react to and interpret childrens' drawing produced in conjunction with the residence in China, around the nature of the known and imagined. A publication will be produced to record the research further.
