VISCERAL, presents living bone explants as a dynamic synthesis of heterogeneous connective material. The spectacular architecture of bone morphology is based on the remarkable mathematical five fold symmetries of chiffon like bone cells. In biomedicine when a damaged hip bone is replaced in the human body by a prosthetic device, the bone marrow in long bone can be used as a source of pluri-potent stem cells and portions of bone can be grown and reconstructed using combinations of bone tissue engineering, stem cells and bio-gel lattice. In this process, a population of bone marrow stem cells is sorted and separated into cell types for regenerative repair, they are seeded onto scaffolds, often derived from other living species and plant material such as coral or seaweed.
