Description/Abstract: | Speakers and panel members at the Digital Encounters Symposium, organised by the Crysalis project, and held at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) at Canterbury, 11 December 2013. Attended by 65 delegates from around Europe, the symposium explored the transformative effect of digital design and production techniques on a range of textiles practices. The relationship between hand crafted and digital textile techniques was discussed by a range of textile practitioners. The symposium was followed by the 'Moving Textiles: Digital Encounters' exhibition at Herbert Read Gallery, UCA in Canterbury in the summer of 2014. The event is part of a series of conferences and symposiums hosted by Crysalis project partners. |
