Description/Abstract:
Cardboard City is the fourth exhibition organised by the group of artists under the name CollectConnect (Dean Reddick, Alban Low, Stuart Simler and Bryan Benge) and brings a fresh perspective on the group exhibition genre.
From the 1st to 24th December 2013, 25 artists exhibited their work along the south bank of the Thames in London. Each artwork responded to the theme 'Social Advent' and was contained within a cardboard frame that had a door for the public to open. Stuart Simler and Alban Low opened a door each day in the run up to Christmas. 'Boxed In' by Bryan Benge was the first artwork to be opened.
