The author presents an artistic position on a theme, in this case science, art and cognition. There is an outline of processes involved in scientific research and those of research in the humanities and social sciences. In conclusion the author states that the photo as medium is employed in both science and art for its potential to document and at the same time to reference the technique of documentation and aesthetic activity.
This book is published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name held at the Fotomuseum Winterthur from 2 June to 19 August 2007.
