Simon Olding provides an introduction to this book which is a new collection of essays on Muriel Rose (1897-1986) edited by Jean Vacher, Collections Manager of the Crafts Study Centre. Muriel Rose played a central role in the development of the crafts both before and after the second world war, and was one of the Founder Trustees of the Crafts Study Centre as well as Director of the highly influential Little Gallery in London.
