Description/Abstract: | The title Irrlicht is German for Friar's Lantern or Willow's Wisp. The Sculpture is installed near a pond in an outdoor Sculpture Garden in Switzerland. It is playing the sound of waves recorded at Broadstairs and the light is a flashing buoy light, as used by signal buoys in the English channel. Upon entering a certain radius a modified movement sensor cuts out the sound and light. |
