HOUND
Rees, Sian (2016) HOUND. [Performance, Site-specific work, Sound art, Theatre]
- Details
HOUND (2016) was a Practice as Research performance which aimed to address a significant gap in theatre studies scholarship regarding the efficacy of theatre within contemporary protest. The performance examined how far performance may enrich and enhance activism. It included distinctive modes: an audio-walk, interaction with performers in public spaces, a collaborative pervasive game, and a performance intervention (inspired by the folkloric form, Rough Music). Participants, therefore, were able to experience (and comment upon) the affective and effective dimension of these modes; and offer contributions as to their willingness to engage in an unsanctioned performative intervention in public space.
