A research project into pre-consumer interventions to establish how they enhance student creativity and inform curriculum content. The findings presented at this conference informed the curriculum content for a new Sustainable Design Module with delivery guidance at Fashion Design BA Level for first year students at Northbrook College who commissioned and funded the research. Results showed that the sooner students were introduced to these practices, the sooner they would naturally embed them into their own practice. Follow ups with alumni demonstrated they were bringing these practices into industry when they gained employment. The project involved collaboration with existing students, graduates and alumni at Northbrook College. The research attracted the engagement of the fashion brand Religion whose Creative Director Britta Boyer worked closely with staff and students to implement the practices in a live project to create exclusive designs for the brand that were later put into production and sold globally.
