Description/Abstract:

This exhibition has grown out of the Crafts Council Hothouse scheme. Haptic/tacit is a network formed between five makers and their mentors, from the 2013 cohort of the Hothouse programme for emerging makers.

For this exhibition, each maker has invited their mentor to show work alongside them, to demonstrate how their continuing dialogue has helped grow individual practices and to document how relationships have continued to flourish.

Shelly Goldsmith exhibited the piece 'Inherited' alongside work by UCA graduate Laura Grain. The piece 'Inherited' was originally shown in the exhibition 'Lace Effects' at the Cité Internationale de la dentelle et de la mode, France and has subsequently contributed to a bigger piece of work titled 'Lodz Blouse Trilogy' exhibited at UCA Canterbury 2016-2017.
