- Details
The Dover Museums & Arts Group (DMAG) Joined Up project brought together fourteen contemporary artists with museum and heritage venues across the Dover District as part of a First World War commemorative project. The project ran from May 2014 to April 2016 and was supported by Arts Council England and Kent County Council.
The work made by the fourteen artists for their museum residencies was showcased in the Maison Dieu’s historic rooms at the INSPIRATION=DOVER concert and exhibition on 20 May 2016. The resulting art works were exhibited together with objects from their host museums' First World War collections.
Rob McDonald and Tania McCormack were the artists allocated to Sandwich Guildhall. The artists generated an illustrated book highlighting the destruction and futility of the Western front against the story of the quiet town of Sandwich.
