Description/Abstract:

This project comprises several iterations, among which the publication "A Partial Index" and exhibition "Acapulco to Byker" were central. The project started as a collective of researchers and artists at Newcastle University led by Peter Merrington and Tijana Stevanović for the exhibition A Partial Index at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art’s project space BALTIC 39 in August 2014.

The artwork comprised of mixed media including a community archive, super-8 film, a self-published volume ‘A Partial Index’, the public talk and a radio podcast produced for the Critical Waves radio.

This project has been funded by the Quality in Learning and Teaching Innovation Fund (Newcastle University) and in kind from BALTIC, Newcastle. The exhibition is just one of the outcomes of the year-long project lead by Tijana Stevanovic and Peter Merrington.
