Description/Abstract:
An exhibition of 'work in progress' as part of a showcase of artists' work produced during the ConTEXT Residency programme.
Aim:
To develop a programmable, textile-lighting product using woven optical fibres to provide energy efficient, safe, cool light without the need of bulbs in collaboration with the Danish lighting designer, Tom Rossau.
Objectives:
• Advance the design development of existing woven, light-emitting material to enable effective design integration;
• Re-configure existing digital interface mechanisms to allow localised design capacity for textile-based lighting products;
• Develop design ideas for product prototype design and make.
