I presented at the symposium organised by Stroud International Textiles (SIT) to accompany the exhibition 'Pairings II – conversations & collaborations' showing at the Museum in the Park, Stroud, Gloucestershire.
An international panel of artists and scientists considered and explored how they have been inspired to create and collaborate.
Speakers include Helen Storey (fashion designer and innovator) and Professor Anthony Ryan (scientist & chemist) with Catalytic Clothing; Trish Belford (Concrete Factory); Jessica Hemmings (writer and academic); David Gates, Jane Webb & Alice Kettle (furniture & textiles); Sharon Blakey (ceramics); Rhian Solomon (a visual artist whose practice draws parallels between skin & cloth).
Other speakers include Annie Shaw (knitting) and Shelly Goldsmith (textiles); Rachel Kelly (interactive wallpaper) speaking with Janet Haigh (embroidery).
