In the UK we will be looking at Mapping. Working with various Elder groups and inter-generational groups we will map movements past, present and in dreams, under the titles: Past Lines, Lines of Connection, Lines of Desire. We will use tracking devices and record the patterns, actual maps as ‘prickings’, and led lights. Artists will work together with the participating group, translating the mappings into material outcomes.
The UK project began in late August 2012 with a group of Elders from Rowlands Castle in Hampshire, working with artists Gail Baxter and Carol Quarini. They have now identified their Past Lines and their Lines of Desire. The Lines of Connection will begin in September.
