Description/Abstract:
During a college trip to Budapest, I looked for photographs outside of the museum and institutional bases that map out the official version of the problematic and troubled history of Hungary. The black-and-white vernacular photos I found are represented here.
The photos and narrative investigate archive and memory, displacement, lost photos, tourism and social and political aspects, and images of women. The archive in this case is about looking for something that is lost, or collecting as a “tourist.”
