Research Statement

As a specialist in learning technology, Maria's pedagogic expertise focuses on designing online learning activities within situated learning environments. These activities are bespoke by nature and designed/built according to learning outcomes that are relevant to the taught discipline within the visual arts. She has co-developed a number of learning activities and spaces that have gained significant acclaim and adoption throughout the university; these include personal reflective spaces, collective knowledge spaces and collaborative discovery spaces alongside improved course organisation and management tools in relation to assessment feedback and online submission.
