Description/Abstract:

Transition was exhibited at the group exhibition 'Kith & Kin II: New Glass and Ceramics' and grew out of the Tacoma Glass Residency.

Bringing together artworks from two creative 'families' - Glass and Ceramics - this second survey exhibition features artists who usually work in other areas, and who are exploring glass or ceramics as creative materials. Others are known for working in either glass or ceramics and are now taking their ideas into the other medium. The new work, extending the artists' existing practice has largely been created at the National Glass Centre.

The exhibition was curated by Professor Peter Davies and Professor Kevin Petrie, Institute for International Research in Glass and Ceramic Arts Research Centre, University of Sunderland.
